This Order enters into force on 1st July 2004, except the provisions of articles 3, 79 and 80 which shall enter into force as from the date of publication in the Official Gazette (article 82).
Abstract

This Order, in reference with Council Directive 2003/85/EC sets out the minimum control measures to be applied in the event of an outbreak of foot and mouth disease of whatever type of virus. Such measures shall apply to any domestic or wild animal. It also sets forth certain preventative measures aimed at increasing awareness and preparedness of the competent authorities and the farming community for this disease.
