Abstract

This Presidential Decree, with a view of introduction of scientifically grounded innovative methods of selection and breeding in the country, systematic organization of artificial insemination, ensuring epizootic well-being and food safety, approves the transformation the State Committee of Veterinary Medicine of the Republic of Uzbekistan into the State Committee of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, defining its main tasks as follows: (a) implementation of the unified state policy in the field of veterinary medicine; (b) harmonization of regulatory and legal acts with international standards, coordination of interaction between state and economic management bodies and local authorities in this area, implementation of veterinary licensing; (c) development of veterinary sphere and all branches of animal husbandry, including cattle breeding, sheep breeding, goat breeding, horse breeding, poultry breeding, fish breeding, bee keeping and rabbit breeding, coordination of selection and pedigree work, as well as development and implementation of state programs; (d) ensuring protection of the country's territory against the introduction of infectious animal diseases; (e) introduction of modern methods of treatment and prevention of animal diseases, organization of production of new types and forms of veterinary drugs based on the achievements of domestic and foreign science; (f) monitoring the effectiveness of preventive measures to detect, diagnose and prevent the spread of infectious animal diseases in a timely manner, while ensuring epizootic well-being; (g) implementing unified mechanisms of state support of pedigree stockbreeding, sowing of fodder crops on land plots allocated to livestock farms for growing fodder and to monitor the achievement of high yields; (h) organization of identification, registration, removal from the register and maintenance of livestock farms, as well as breed zoning of livestock; (i) state supervision of compliance with veterinary and pedigree legislation and the quality and circulation of veterinary drugs and feed additives; (j) comprehensive development of scientific, methodological and educational potential in the field of veterinary medicine and breeding; (k) identification of areas for scientific research, coordination of fundamental and applied research, and implementation of the results of innovative developments of veterinary and breeding; (l) ensuring certification and standardization of livestock products in accordance with international requirements, large-scale implementation of modern methods of quality management, attraction of foreign investments and grants in the field of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry; and (m) organization of systematic training and advanced training of specialists in the field of veterinary.
