Abstract The President, in order to further ensure the country's food security, saturate internal market with quality, safe and affordable foodstuffs, strengthen the purchasing power of the population, liberalize foreign economic activity and develop a healthy competitive environment, and eliminate existing systemic problems in this sphere, decrees to abolish beginning from 1 February 2018 preferential customs, tax dues and other preferential terms granted to some economic entities importing foodstuffs to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The President prohibits to the Cabinet of Ministers decision-making granting to some economic entities preferential customs, tax dues and other preferential terms. In case of violation of the aforesaid provisions by public officials they shall be liable to prosecution including criminal sanctions. The Government must create in all the regions on condition of private-public partnership storage facilities, including refrigerating chambers, for processing and packaging of foodstuffs. Producers of sugar shall be exonerated until 1 January 2019 from payment of value added tax in relation to the volumes produced from imported raw materials. Full text Russian Website lex.uz
