Abstract The President states that failure to undertake effective measures to solve existing problems related to insolvency of water charges jeopardizes the issues of stable provision of the population with water, leads to an extremely irrational use of water resources and constrains the introduction of modern water-saving technologies. The President, in order to further improve the management system, control and accounting mechanisms, and strengthen the payment discipline in the provision of water supply and sanitation services, decrees that the following additional tasks shall be entrusted to the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement at the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan: (a) detection, suppression and prevention of facts illegal water use and unauthorized access to water and sewage networks; (b) ensuring the completeness and timeliness of payments of water charges, reducing the debt of consumers; (c) monitoring of the implementation of modern automated water consumption, monitoring and recording systems; and (d) participation in the implementation of water purchase and sale, water consumption and accounting.
