Abstract

This Presidential Decree establishes that: (a) priority to ensure the introduction of water-saving irrigation technologies are the cultivated areas for which water supply is carried out with the help of pumping stations and pumping units, including irrigation wells and vertical drainage wells; (b) from January 1, 2020, the procedure for providing at the expense of State budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan financial support to agricultural enterprises growing raw cotton for public needs on low-yielding lands shall be cancelled; (c) from January 1, 2022 the procedure for coverage at the expense of subsidies from the state budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan the cost of electricity consumed by pumping units and irrigation wells for the production of raw cotton and cereals, shall be applicable exclusively to agricultural producers who have introduced water-saving irrigation technologies; and (d) use by agricultural producers of irrigation wells and vertical wells of farms for irrigation of agricultural crops shall be authorized subject to the use of water-saving irrigation technologies. The amount of the subsidy to cover part of the costs of introduction of water-saving irrigation technologies is determined by the multiplication of its basic estimated value and coefficient, depending on the type of agricultural crop and land yield index.
