This Presidential Decree enters into force on the date of its official publication.
Abstract

The President, decrees to approve setting up “Uzbekbaliksanoat” association, with the aim of improvement of the management system of the fishing industry, improvement of the efficiency of fishfarming and fishing organizations, increasing production capacities for processing fish products, rational use of natural and artificial reservoirs, and introduction of scientifically substantiated methods and intensive technologies for fish growing. The aforesaid association shall perform the following functions: (a) improvement of reproduction of fish planting material; assistance to fish industry organizations and enterprises in the organization of reproduction of valuable fish species for further stocking of natural and artificial reservoirs; the creation of new hatchery facilities for the production of larvae, an increase in the production of small fry, the modernization and expansion of existing ponds for the cultivation of fish planting material; (b) rational use of natural and artificial waterbodies; ensuring effective interaction with relevant executive authorities in the field in the provision of land for the creation of reservoirs; increase in fish catch due to the large-scale introduction of modern intensive technologies, including the cage method of fishfarming, and increasing the yield of natural and artificial waterbodies; strengthening the fodder base of the fishing industry by creating new and modernizing existing production facilities for the production of balanced and high protein fodder for fish; and (c) scientific research with a view of introduction of advanced fishfarming and fish processing technologies.
