Abstract The President, with a view of efficient management of food industry, attraction of investments for modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of food processing enterprises, improvement of competitiveness on internal market and enhancement of nomenclature of foodstuffs, decrees to set up agro-industrial holding company “Uzbekozikovcatholding” assigning thereto the following functions: (a) market research related to internal and international trade of fruits, vegetables and other agricultural commodities; (b) introduction of modern logistics for promotion of national food raw materials and foodstuffs; (c) organization of modern packaging; (d) promotion of export; and (e) assistance to national food processing enterprises in standardization and certification.
