The Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance and Food Safety Agency shall be responsible for the improvement of veterinary services in Azerbaijan. In this context, this Presidential Decree lays down duties of the Ministry of Agriculture as (I) taking measures to improve the activities of subordinate veterinary departments and the phased abolition of field veterinary stations included in the structure of these departments by the end of 2022, (II) promote the contract to be concluded between the Agency and veterinary facilities for the purpose of unified organization of veterinary services financed from the state budget against zoonoses, and (III) ensure the formation of the Veterinary Services Monitoring subsystem, which provides their registration in the Electronic Agricultural Information System and electronic monitoring of the implementation of contractual obligations in order to coordinate the activities of veterinary facilities. Food Safety Agency carries out duties in the fields of registration of data on animals, their diseases and diagnostic and preventive measures in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture.
