This Presidential Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Presidential Decree, approves the Marine Fisheries, Inland Fisheries, Aquaculture nd Mariculture Management Measures for the year 2019. These Measures, consisting of 26 articles and two Annexes, are intended primarily to establish the capacity of the catches to the available potential of aquatic biological resources and the development of sustainable aquaculture, as well as to ensure the protection and conservation of target species and their ecosystems. In particular, it establishes the following matters: Monitoring and use of equipment (EMC and GPS); Closing seasons; Authorized mesh size permitted by fishing gear; By-catches; Biological sampling; Fishing quota limit per species for the year 2019; Artisanal Fishing; Purse Seine fishing; Pelagic Fishing; Industrial and Semi-Industrial Fishing; Demersal Fishing; Longline Fishing and Gillnet Fishing. In addition, it specifies fishing quota of the following species: Depth Shrimp; Crab; Coastal Shrimp; Cephalopods; Squids and Octopus; High sea Tuna; Seals catching management; Aquaculture and Mariculture. Alias, it establishes offences and penalties as well as serious infringements, in accordance with the provisions established by the Law of Aquatic Biological Resources No. 6-A/04 of 8 October.
