Abstract The President decrees to set up special economic zone “Burabay” on the territory of Akmolinsk province that shall be integral part of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The total area shall be 370 ha. The priority issues of special economic zone “Burabay” shall be: (a) organization and promotion of ecological education, tourism and recreation; and (b) organization of recreational activities and tourism-related information services. The functioning of special economic zone “Burabay” shall be organized on the basis of rational and efficient use of natural resources and sustainable development of the environment.
