This Presidential Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Presidential Decree, consisting of 24 articles, establishes composition, duties competencies, organization and functioning of the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD). In the exercise of its functions, INGD ensures multisectoral coordination and coordination in the area of disaster risk reduction and management. In particular, INGD's duties are: a) Coordinate actions for prevention, mitigation, preparedness and response to disasters; b) Coordinate emergency management and response; c) Coordinate the development of arid and semi-arid areas; d) Coordinate post-disaster reconstruction; e) Coordinate the National Civil Protection Unit; f) Coordinate the process of prevention, mitigation, readiness and response to the phenomena of risks and threats; g) Strengthen resilience and disaster risk management programmes.
