Abstract

The Decree establishes the modalities for the repopulation of the farms. After the outbreak of the disease has been officially declared by the competent authority, a protection area shall be established around the infected farm with a minimum radius of 3 Km within an area under surveillance with a minimum radius of 10 Km. The measures to be taken in the above-mentioned areas include, inter alia, diagnostic surveys, serological tests, census of the existing farms, etc. Further provisions concern the inventory of all the animals exposed to the risk of contamination, the implementation of quarantine measures, the authorization to the transport of animals, meat, carcasses and waste of animal origin in order to avoid the spreading of the disease, and the disinfection of the establishments. Article 13 prohibits the use of vaccines against the classical swine fever; virus manipulations for the purposes of research, diagnosis or production of vaccines may be performed only by authorized laboratories. The storage, supply, distribution and sale of vaccines shall be carried out under official control and according to the procedures set out by the Ministry of Health.
