Abstract This Presidential Decree strengthens epidemiological surveillance measures of the bovine spongiform encephalopathy. A total prevention program against the above disease is based on rapid diagnosis tests on all slaughtered bovines, including Bison bison and Bubalus bubalus of more than 24 months old.
