Entry into force notes
This Presidential Decree enters into force on the day after its publication.
Abstract

This Presidential Decree, consisting of 27 articles divided into four Chapters and two Annexes, creates the National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA). It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Authority, as an entity aimed to carry out inspections on economic activities. This entity results from the fusion of sectorial inspection services such as: Industry, Trade, Tourism, Environment, Transport, Health, Agriculture and Fisheries. In particular, ANIESA aims at performing the following activities: 1. In the field of inspection of economic activities: carry out inspections on all economic activities related to trade in goods and services, placed in the commercial circuit, etc.; 2. In the field of food safety: carry out the assessment of food risks and issue scientific and technical advice, recommendations and warnings, particularly in matters related to human nutrition, health and well-being, animal, plant health and genetically modified organisms, etc.
