Abstract This Presidential Decree approves the Statute of the Ministry of Geology and Mining (MGM). The Statute, consisting of 3 Chapters and 2 Tables, specifies composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, entitled to implement the National policy related to geologic and mining activities within the territory of Angola. This institution also is competent for: designing and proposing executive programmes on geology and mining; promoting the balanced and sustainable development of these sectors at National level; promoting the quality and the added value of the National mineral products; approving technical regulations related to the quality of minerals, extraction, exploitation, trading and mining safety processes.
