Abstract This Presidential Decree amends competences of the Ministry of Sea, Inland waters and Fisheries. Amendments deal, namely with regard to search and rescue activities for people and goods in maritime, river and lake areas carried out in coordination with other competent entities; to carrying out and coordinating activities to prevent and combat marine, river, lake and related pollution ecosystems, from sources likely to cause damage to the marine and coastal environment and the inspection, licensing and certification of infrastructures, any kind of platforms, including: floating platforms, artificial islands, cables and submarine pipes, material for waterway transport and respective maritime equipment and the maritime transport activity, with new competences in the management and conservation of marine resources.
