Abstract With this Decree the National Forest Park "Vicos - Aoos" is established in the region of Ioannina. The park consists of two distinguished areas, the high protection zone (core or nucleo zone) of 3.300 hectares and the peripheral zones. The delimitation of those areas are described in the Decree. The park has been included into the European network of protected areas (Natura 2000). The park area comprises an exceptionally uncommon and sensitive ecosystem for which human activities are banned except from those related to recreational activities during daytime.
