Abstract This Presidential Decree creates and approves the Statute of the Centre of Tropical Ecology and Climate Change (CETAC). This Statute, consisting of 4 Chapters and 2 Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, entitled to carry out researches and investigations in the domain of the tropical ecology and management of natural ecosystems, to support the designing and implementation of environment preservation policies and programmes, in order to improve the life conditions of populations through a rational use of water and climatic resources.
