This Presidential Decree enters into force one month after its publication.
Abstract

This Presidential Decree approves the Regulation for Laboratory Testing on Imported Products Destined for Human Consumption. This Regulation, consisting of 42 articles divided into four Chapters and five Annexes, specifies hygiene and sanitary requirements to be satisfied by products destined to human and animal consumption with a view to safeguarding the public interest underlying the protection of public health and the environment, applicable to products with characteristics that pose a potential risk to public health and the environment. The Decree applies to: food, food additives, beverages, medicines, cosmetics, fertilizers, seeds, pesticides and other products. Chapters also concern the collection of laboratory samples and tests, laboratory requirements and responsibility for transgression.
