This Presidential Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Presidential Decree approves the Regulation on the Management of Waste of Natural Radioactive Materials and other Radioactive Waste. The Regulation, consisting of 51 articles divided into eight Chapters and nine Annexes, establishes the criteria and general requirements for radiological protection and safety necessary for the management of Natural Radioactive Materials (NORM) and other radioactive waste of very short half-life, very low level, low level and intermediate level of radioactivity, as well as the procedures necessary for the handling, segregation, treatment, transport, transfer, storage and/or disposal of radioactive waste in radiological facilities. The present Regulation is applicable to the management of radioactive waste from Classes 2 to 5, as well as to the managing entities of radiological facilities.
