Abstract The Decree amends certain provisions of Presidential Decree No. 967/1977. In particular, articles 5 to 9 are hereby replaced. The new provisions establish terms for the operation of installations which process dry figs. According to the provisions of the Decree, dried figs must undergo a compulsory fumigation treatment (removal of insects from dried fruits). Such process can be performed in authorized stately or privately-owned installations provided they hold a license to operate. The Decree establishes the terms and conditions that have to be fulfilled so as an authorization of operation can be granted.
