Abstract The present Act lays down provisions relating to prairies and forest fires. It contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein such as, for example, “burning permit area”, “escaped fire”, “fire fighting”, “fire season”, “forest land”, “forest products”, etc. The Act deals with, amongst others, matters such as burning permit areas, provincial fire rangers, municipal fire rangers, municipal by-laws, liability for cost of fire fighting, obtaining assistance in fire fighting, prohibitions during fire season, etc. The Act consists of 39 sections.
