The Act also provides rules for the sale of agricultural produce or livestock. Section 3 requires every person who sells, trades in, deals in, supplies or otherwise disposes of agricultural produce or livestock of the weight of 25 kilograms or more shall be registered in the manner provided in this Act. Sellers of livestock shall provide buyers with a memorandum of sale in accordance with section 3A. Other provisions of the Act deal with measures against illegal trade in livestock, powers of the appointed officers, and offences and penalties (33 sections).
