This Act sets out provisions on the establishment of pounds; poundkeeper and management of pounds; seizure or taking to pound of trespassing animals; destruction of trespassing pigs and goats; notice of impounding to be given to owner; penalties for beating, etc., impounded animals; pound fees; power of the Commissioner to destroy animals; records to be kept by poundkeeper; and control by the Ministry of Primary Industries. The Minister may make regulations prescribing the fees to be charged in respect of any act, matter or thing done or required to be done under the provisions of this Act.
