Abstract

This Act makes provision with respect federal and state cooperation in development and administration of state poultry product inspection programs, inspection of poultry in official establishments any establishment as determined by the Secretary at which inspection of the slaughter of poultry, or the processing of poultry products, is maintained under the authority of this Chapter). It also specifies matters subject to specific regulation such as recordkeeping requirements; registration of business, transactions, transportation, or importation of dead, dying, disabled or diseased poultry or carcasses to prevent use as human food, etc., and provide with respect to, among other things, the Safe Meat and Poultry Inspection Panel, federal inspection interstate shipment of poultry and non-federal jurisdiction of federally regulated matters and concurrent jurisdiction.
