Abstract

The present Regulations enact the Natural Products Marketing Act. Section 3 establishes that the purpose and intent of the above-mentioned plan is to provide the Prince Edward Island Potato Board with all the necessary powers and authority to: a) provide for the promotion, control and regulation in any or all respects of the production and marketing within Prince Edward Island of potatoes, including the prohibition of production and marketing of potatoes, in whole or in part; b) act as an agent for, co-operate with or receive the delegation of powers from Canada to regulate the marketing of potatoes; and c) provide for the control and regulation in any or all respects of the quality of potatoes in Prince Edward Island.
