Abstract

These Rules shall apply to all ports under the control of the Ports Authority. These Rules provide for the duties of the master; compliance with the Collision Regulations of every ship navigating within the limits of a port; recovery for cargo falling overboard or the removal of a ship or thing be sunk, or stranded or in any way causing obstruction within the limits of a port; prohibition of power-boat racing or water skiing within the limits of a port; costs upon failure or delay in berthing; report of times of arrival and departure; determination of any part of a port as an area in which the mooring of ships is prohibited or reserved for specific purposes; responsibility of the master of a ship for all damage caused to goods lying on the wharf; lawful orders of harbourmaster to be obeyed; removal of a ship from berth in prohibited or reserved area by harbour master; loading and discharging of goods and ballast; goods not to be landed without permission; production of certificate of registry on demand; prohibition of any refuse, gas, petroleum oil, bilge water, ballast water or other offensive substance whatsoever into or onto any waters or land within the limits of a port; and offences.
