Abstract

This Ordinance establishes the Ports Authority of the Turks and Caicos Islands as a body corporate and provides with respect to the designation, control, use and licensing of and management of ports and related matters. The functions of the Ports Authority include the prevention and control of (marine) pollution. The Authority shall also be responsible for the enforcement of this Ordinance and of all laws of the United Kingdom relating to shipping that have application in the Islands. The Minister may make regulations providing for the use and control of Government ports.
