Abstract

These Rules consist of 21 rules divided into 6 Parts: Preliminary (I); Rules for navigation (II); Arrival and Departure (III); Safety and emergency regulations (IV); Safety in port (V); General (VI). Rule 3 deals with collision regulations. Arrival and departures of vessels shall be notified to the Port Officer. Every vessel lying within the Port shall have contingency plans and procedures to attend to emergencies involving oil spill, explosion, fire grounding, abandonment and other maritime casualties. Every oil tanker of 150 gross tonnage and above, and any other vessel of 400 gross tonnage and above, when calling at the Port shall carry on board a shipboard pollution emergency plan. Attached to these Rules are six schedules.
