The main objectives of the Act include improvement of the women’s health in various physical, psychological and social aspects, disease prevention, reduction of risk factors, improve the policies of the Ministry of Health regarding women’s health, increase the community awareness, increase in women’s access to information and strengthening the central role of women in insuring the health conditions of families and society. Assessment and frequent supervision on implementation of the regulations and programs regarding women’s health, increase the cooperation between different relevant departments, continuous evaluation of the women’s health condition in the country, develop educational programs proportionate to the women’s requirements, modify the societies’ beliefs concerning the women’s position in decision making, support relevant NGO’s, increase job opportunities for women and reform the rules and regulations pertaining to women are other duties of this Act.
