Abstract

The present Ordinance regulates the use of plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs. It introduces a series of directives of the European Union on the same subject into Austrian legislation. Article 2 contains the definition of “plastic objects”, and of “plastic” itself. The following articles lay down regulations prohibiting the bringing into circulation objects made of plastic materials not complying with the provisions set out in the annexes. The text is composed of 12 articles and 11 Annexes.
