Abstract

This Ordinance basically regulates the importation of plants and earth in Part II and provides for response to occurrence of plant pests and diseases in Kiribati in Part III. Section 3 provides for the appointment of Quarantine Officers by the Minister. The Minister may prohibit certain import of plants pursuant to section 4. Plants shall be imported only through designated ports (sect. 5) and in accordance with a permit granted under section 6. The Minister may make Regulations generally for the better carrying out of the control of plant importation pursuant to section 10.
