Provisions of this Order shall come into force on 1 January 2004. Abstract The purpose of this Order is to ensure plant quarantine measures when importing plants and plant products into India. No category of plant materials shall be allowed to be imported from countries listed in Schedule-IV. Permits shall be required for import of Germplasm, Transgenic or Genetically Modified Organisms, of live insects and microbial cultures, and of timber.
