Abstract This Order implements Commission Directives 2001/32/EC and 2001/33/EC in England. The former Directive amends the protected zones established under the principal Plant Health Directive, Council Directive 2000/29/EC and the latter provides for consequential amendments to certain Annexes of that Directive. The Order makes several changes to the geographical definitions of various protected zones listed in Schedule 8 to the 1993 Order and corresponding amendments to Schedules 1B, 2B, 3B and 4B. It deletes from Schedule 8 a protected zone in respect of a pest. Other geographical amendments are made to the zones defined in Schedule 8, including Denmark removing from protected zones in respect of specified pests, and reflecting various local government boundary redefinitions.
