Abstract This Act lays down rules aiming at the prevention of introduction of pests and diseases affecting plants or fruit. To this end, the Minister may appoint places of entry and quarantine, and require, by order, any measures for the purpose of treating a disease or pest or preventing the spreading thereof. Enforcement measures (e.g. seizure or destruction of plants) are established in case of infringement of the directions contained in any proclamation or given by an inspector (Part 4).
