Abstract

This Order amends in Northern Ireland the law relating to planning and in particular the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1991. It inserts in that Order provisions relating to, among other things, examination of development plans, principles underlying a development plan, conservation areas, stop notices in relation to deposit of refuse or waste materials, the procedure of the Planning Appeals Commission, application to Crown land and enforcement in relation to the Crown, preservation of trees in conservation areas, mineral planning permissions and the power to impose aftercare conditions on grant of mineral planning permission, presence of hazardous substances and compulsory acquisition of land for planning purposes.
