Abstract

This Act establishes the Planning Institute of Jamaica as a body corporate and defines its functions and powers. The Institute shall, among other things, initiate and coordinate planning of development in Jamaica, monitor the implementation of development plans; and carry out research. It shall also coordinate national, regional and sectoral development planning in order to facilitate the consistent and efficient implementation of projects and programmes. The Minister may give directions to the Institute and make Regulations for giving effect to the provisions of this Act.
