The Act shall promote the conservation of the natural environment, landscape beauty and cultural heritage of Norfolk Island. The Act requires a Norfolk Island plan to be adopted by the Legislative Assembly. The Plan shall promote the objects of this Act by indicating planning objectives and development and environmental standards for Norfolk Island generally and for designated land use zones. The executive member may prepare a draft development control plan. The Act sets out the development approval process. The Administrator may make Regulations prescribing use or development of land that requires an environmental impact assessment.
