It also defines the composition of the Authority and provides with respect to its organization and administration. The Authority shall be empowered to, among other things: (a) control and supervise the cultivation by growers; (b) control and supervise the purchase and sale of planting material; (c) inspect the growing and harvested crops; (d) control and supervise the purchase, transportation and sale of the crop; (e) with the approval of the Minister: (i) regulate and control the cultivation, picking, transporting and marketing of pineapples; (ii) regulate and control the marketing of the crop by growers and others; or (iii) impose a levy or levies on growers.
