The Board shall: (a) grant licenses of butchers and bacon factories; (b) advise the Minister on any matter affecting the pig industry; and (c) promote and advance the pig industry. No person shall carry on the business as a butcher or carry on the business of a bacon factory unless he or she holds a licence from the Board to slaughter pigs or a licence to operate a bacon factory. Every licensee of a bacon factory and every licensed butcher shall keep annual records in accordance with this Act. Full text English
