Abstract

This Act establishes the Pig Industry Board as a body corporate. The functions of the Board include carrying out of research, to establish and operate pig litter testing stations, to advise the Minister on production and marketing of pigs and to promote such activities, etc. (sect. 20). The Board shall establish a general fund for receiving moneys and effecting payments. Part VI of this Act concerns the development of the pig industry in Zimbabwe. Carcasses of pigs shall be graded in accordance with section 33. No person shall operate bacon factory without a licence (sect. 36). The Minister may impose conditions attached to the licence regarding the quantity of pigs used for bacon.
