The Minister, on behalf of the Commonwealth, may enter into a contract with an eligible body (or a body and other persons) that provides for the Commonwealth to make payments of the various kinds to the body. If a funding contract has been made that provides for payments to be made to an eligible body, the Minister may, in writing, declare that body to be the industry services body for the purposes of this Act. The Minister may give a written direction to the industry services body under section 12. Corporations established under the Pig Industry Act 1986 are abolished and their assets and liabilities transferred to statutory authorities from which they may be transferred to successor bodies.
