This Act makes provision for the reorganization of services to the pig industry. If a funding contract has been made that provides for payments to be made to an eligible body, the Minister may, in writing, declare that body to be the industry services body for the purposes of this Act. The Minister may give a written direction to the industry services body under section 12. Corporations established under the Pig Industry Act 1986 are abolished and their assets and liabilities transferred to statutory authorities from which they may be transferred to successor bodies.
