Abstract

The present Regulations enforce the Plant Protection Act (S.C. 1990, c. 22). In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to compensation payments for treatment of plants and trees against phytophthora ramorum (P. ramorum) which is the organism that causes Sudden Oak Death (SOD), a serious disease of oaks and other woody and herbaceous plants. The text consists of 6 sections as follows: Interpretation (1); Compensation (2); Amount of compensation (3); Application for compensation (4); Other conditions (5); Coming into force (6). One Schedule is enclosed.
