Abstract: This Ordinance establishes the Physical Planning Board and provides rules relative to (control on) planning and development. Other administrative bodies for purposes of this Act are the Minister and the Director of Planning. The Director may, and if so required by the Governor shall, submit to the Minister proposals for the preparation of a development plan. There shall be various types of development permission, including a permission to subdivide land. In considering an application for development permission, the Board shall take into account such of various matters including the impact of the proposed development on the ecology of the Islands and the impact of the proposed development on the natural environment and on the uses of adjacent land. Conditions for the grant of permission may include: arrangement for sewerage and water supply; landscaping; and the preservation of trees. The Minister may also, among other things, make plant preservation orders. The Governor may declare any particular area of the Islands (marine) conservation areas. Commercial or industrial development in a conservation area shall be considered only after the relevant impact statement has been delivered to the Director
