It amends the Act in various provisions concerning, among other things: definitions for “association”, “drug”, “drug product”, “practitioner”, “prescription” and “registered pharmacist"; the Pharmacy Council; the register of pharmacists. It also establishes the Pharmacy Complaints Committee, provides for its functions and investigation powers and provides rules for the handling of complaints. A consequential amendment is made to the Pharmacy and Poisons (Control of Prescriptions) Regulations 1979.
