Abstract

The objects of this Act are to ensure (1) the continuity and security of the petroleum products supply; (2) the quality of petroleum products; (3) control of the sale price of petroleum products. “Petroleum product” includes gasoline, diesel or biodiesel fuel, fuel ethanol, heating oil and any liquid hydrocarbon mixture determined by regulation of the Government. The Act establishes quality standards, regulates abusive practices in gasoline and diesel fuel sales, makes provisions about price controls, inspection and regulatory powers, as well as penal provisions.
