An Act relating to the exploration for, and the exploitation of, the petroleum resources, and certain other resources, of certain submerged lands adjacent to the coasts of New South Wales; to repeal the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1967 and the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Taxation Act 1967 ; to amend the Petroleum Act 1955 and the Pipelines Act 1967 ; and for other purposes.

Abstract

This Act, consisting of 152 sections divided into five Parts and completed by five Schedules, concerns the exploration and exploitation of petroleum resources in certain submerged areas adjacent to the coasts of New South Wales. The Act contains provisions on the management of the adjacent area (Part 2), on mining for petroleum and related licence (Part 4), in compliance with the application of the Convention on the continental shelf.
