Abstract

These Regulations, consisting of 59 sections divided into eight Parts and completed by three Schedules, implements provisions of the Petroleum and Geothermal Act 2000. They specify licence requirements applications, environmental protection and are divided as follows: Preliminary (1); Licence applications (2); Environment protection, including environmental impact report (3); Operator classification and activity notification (4); Notice of entry on land (5); Operational issues, including Geophysical surveys (6); Reports and information, including incident reports (7); Miscellaneous (8). Schedules deal with: fees; Administrative penalties; and Transitional provisions.
