Abstract

The present Act concerns the use and disposal of pesticides and pesticides containers in the environment. The Act establishes the Pesticides Advisory Board to advice the Government on matters related to the administration of the Act. Under section 8, the Minister of the Environment and Local Government may restrict or prohibit the sale, supplying or use of any pesticide and may impose such conditions with respect to the sale, supplying or use of the pesticides. Under the Act, a licence is required for the sale, supply and use of pesticides. The Act also provides for inspections and for the enforcement of the Act and related regulation. The text consists of 33 sections.
