The purpose of this Regulation is to temporarily restrict new development in respect of the mining of peat or peat moss on Crown mineral land while the department evaluates the adverse cumulative effects that may be caused by increased development of Manitoba's peat resources. Section 5 establishes that in the event of a conflict between a provision of this Regulation and a provision of another Regulation made under the Act, the provision of this Regulation prevails.
